Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a special drivers license to drive a Motorhome/RV? No, just a valid license from your state or an international license if you reside outside the United States. Certain RV's request a Driving Record check.

Are RV's difficult to drive? Driving an RV is not difficult it is just different. With the proper attention to those differences you will find it fun and easy to take the wheel. The major differences between driving a car and driving a Motorhome are:
Height: Motorhomes have a clearance height of about 12 feet so you need to be mindful of obstacles such as service station canopies, bridge heights, car washes or low hanging obstacles such as tree branches.
Length & Weight: The additional length and weight of the vehicle makes it less maneuverable than a passenger vehicle. When attempting to park or to backup, you should always make sure you have the extra room you will need and have a spotter. Remember that because of the weight of the RV it may not stop as quickly so you will need more following distance. Defensive driving in an RV requires making changes slowly and carefully , braking gradually and getting familiar with it handling characteristics.

What operating Instructions will we have?At delivery we will provide you with a 30-45 minute orientation regarding all the operations of the motorhome or trailer. After you have reviewed our staff will then be available to answer any question you may have. We will also provide you with an Operators Manual that includes a quick troubleshooting guide that lists common problems and how to resolve them.

What about insurance? The insurance is not included with most RV rentals. This insurance would not cover liability for the renter. It is the renter’s responsibility to check if they are covered by their own insurance. A binder may be required to provide proper coverage. It is advisable for a renter to purchase additional liability insurance through our insurance carrier MBA Insurance.

What size motorhome do I need? The maximum occupancy of a motorhome is determined by the number of seatbelts. This does not mean it can sleep that number of people comfortably. A search can be limited to occupancy and an inquiry can be made on size and number of sleeping berths.

Where Can we park the RV? There are tons of beautiful places for you to stay in an RV. Wherever you choose to go you can make sure that the RV park meets your and your families needs by doing a little research first. Most RV Parks are very “Family Friendly” and offer a lot of amenities and lovely surroundings. You can visit our “Vacation Planner” page for suggestions on routes, activities and RV Parks, also there are a couple of very good sites for you to visit when you are looking for the right place to stay, www.azstateparks.com, www.woodalls.com and www.koa.com. These sites offer complete descriptions and photos of the Park, excellent information on amenities, rates, dates of operation, number of RV sites the park has, and any discounts that may be available. It is always a good idea to make your reservations as far in advance as you can to ensure that you get the spot that you and your family will love! Dry camping is another option and involves using your RV without hook-ups: no electricity, water or sewer connections. This camping fully utilizes all of the systems included with your unit. Many consider dry camping to be the ideal, as you don't need to be parked in an RV Park with full hook-ups to enjoy all the comforts of your RV. Available water is what you have in your freshwater holding tank. If used sparingly, and depending on how much you start with, your supply will usually last several days. Waste water is stored in either the grey (sink) or black (sewage) holding tank. *Dedicated housebatteries that are independent of the engine batteries provide power to operate your water heater and water pump for those hot showers. The house batteries also provide power to many interior lights, pumps and motors, although depending on the conditions, the batteries will only stay fully charged for 2 to 3 days at a time. Propane provides the fuel needed to operate furnace, refrigerator, oven and stove top and water heater, ensuring you stay warm, your food stays cold and you can cook a gourmet meal. Appliances such as TV, air conditioning, microwave and coffee maker usually require 110-volt electricity that the house batteries alone cannot provide, necessitating the use of the generator when dry camping. *It is always recommended to plug in to shore power as much as possible due to limited battery capacity.

What size are the holding tanks on the RV? There are 3 different holding tanks on our motorhomes and travel trailers. There is the Fresh Water Tank, the Grey Water Tank (sink & shower waste water), and the Black Water Tank (toilet waste water). The size of the holding tanks varies with the size of the motorhome or travel trailer. Each vehicle has a convenient “at a glance” monitoring panel so that you can check the levels of the tanks to see when you should refresh them. To learn more about the size of the holding tanks you can visit "Rental Units & Reservations" click on the unit's specs.

What about mileage? Typically the first 125 miles per day are included in the rental. Additional mileage charges are at the owner’s discretion and these rates can be calculated by a reservation specialist.

Will there be a refund upon early return? Not usually.

What should we pack? Our Motorhomes do not come furnished with Linens and Kitchen supplies, however we do offer Kitchen packages and linen packages for rental if you wish.

Are there additional costs to consider? Yes. Extra insurance is one additional cost, there may be other costs related to cleaning and/or damage if there is a failure on the part of the renter to fulfill prior agreed upon conditions. Fuel and propane tanks are provided full and must be returned full. Upon return, there may be costs above the estimated rental fee calculation including but not limited to excess generator hours and mileage in excess of 125 miles a day.

Is a deposit required?
Yes, there is a reservation downpayment of $250 of the total estimated rental. Remaining balance will be paid at time of departure. Refundable security deposit will be authorized on a major credit card to cover any additonal damage or insurance deductable. Please refer to reservation fee cancellation policy or speak to an Reservation Specialist for complete details.

What happens if the vehicle breaks down during the trip? Some rentals come with roadside assistance, check with your Reservation Specialist for details.

What are standard pick-up & drop-off times for RV’s? Pickups can be scheduled between the hours of 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Returns must be done between 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.. Mon.-Friday, we are closed on Sundays and do not accept returns on that day. For more information please visit our “Rental Policies” page.
